MIKEI® 🍄 Newsletter Contest (“CONTEST”) IS SPONSORED BY Nikkei (Canada) Marketing Ltd. (“SPONSOR”) AND ADMINISTERED BY Nikkei (Canada) Marketing Ltd. (“ADMINISTRATOR”).


  • Contest Period: Contest begins on the date of the release of the edition of the MIKEI® 🍄 Newsletter at 5:00pm Pacific Standard Time (“PST”) until one week after the release at 10:00pm PST) (the “CONTEST PERIOD”).
  • Contest Group: For the purposes of the Contest, the “Contest Group” is composed of the Sponsor and its Administrator, together with their agents, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers of material and services related to the Contest, and any other corporation, partnership, sole proprietorship or other legal entity to the benefit of which this Contest is held, as well as their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and other representatives.
  • Eligibility: The Contest is open to all individuals who: (a) are residents of Canada; and (b) have reached the age of majority in their province/territory of residence as of the date of entering the Contest. Employees, agents and other representatives of the Contest Group, as well as any person with whom they reside, are not eligible to enter the Contest. Employees or contractors of the Sponsor(s) or Administrator(s) and immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with any such employees or contractors, are not eligible to enter.
    1. Residents of Quebec: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the RĂ©gie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the board only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
  • How to Enter: No purchase necessary. Only a confirmed ongoing email address subscription to the Mikei® 🍄 Newsletter (https://mikei.ca/en/newsletter.php) is required as an entry. Unsubscribed users do not count as an entry. A submitted testimonial is an additional entry. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and Administrator. Void where prohibited by law
  • Prizes: There is one (1) Mikei® prize package to be awarded consisting of one (1) 20-day supply of Mikei Red Reishi Mushroom Essence (the “Mikei Prize”) with a suggested retail price (“SRP”) of up to $50 CAD to be awarded to one Contest winner (the “Winner”). The Mikei Prize shall include shipping charges. Delivery must take place within two (2) months of being declared the Winner. Any costs or expenses incurred by the Winner in claiming or using the Mikei Prize will be the responsibility of the Winner. Mikei Prize must be accepted as described in these Contest Rules and cannot be transferred to another person, substituted for another prize, or exchanged in whole or in part for cash.
  • Selection of Winner and Odds of Winning: ONE winner(s) will be chosen at random using a random number generator to select from the entry list. The odds of winning will depend on the number of entries received. The winner will be sent an email and will have 72 hours to respond. If no response is received within 72 hours, another winner will be chosen. Administrators are not responsible for prize fulfillment nor for any technical failures. Winning entry will be verified. The winner(s) will be displayed in the next Mikei® 🍄 Newsletter.
  • Awarding of Prize: To be declared the Winner, the selected entrant must, in addition to meeting the Contest eligibility criteria and otherwise complying with these Rules, first:
    1. Be reached by response by email or contact phone, which must be done within one (1) day immediately following the selection of the entry;
    2. Have correctly answered a mathematical skill-testing question.

If any one of the conditions mentioned in these Rules is not met, the selected entrant will be disqualified and shall not be entitled to receive any prize (including without limitation the Mikei Prize), and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion and time permitting, to select at random another eligible entrant as a potential prize winner or to cancel the Mikei Prize (which for greater certainty will not be awarded).

  • Delivery of Prize: The Mikei Prize will be mailed to the Winner’s primary place of residence, as determined by Sponsor.
  • General Terms and Conditions:
    1. Verification of Entries: The validity of any entry is subject to verification by the Sponsor. Any entries that are illegible, incomplete, fraudulent or otherwise non-compliant with these Rules (all as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion), will be disqualified. Any entrant or other individual who enters or attempts to enter the Contest in a manner that is contrary to these Rules or that is otherwise disruptive to the proper operation of the Contest or by its nature is unjust to other entrants or potential entrants (all as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion) will be disqualified. All decisions made by the Sponsor or its representatives, including without limitation those concerning the eligibility or disqualification of entrants, are final and binding without right of appeal. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and none will be returned.
    2. Acceptance of Prize: The Mikei Prize must be accepted as described in these Rules and cannot be returned, transferred to another individual, substituted for another prize or exchanged in whole or in part for money. The Sponsor does, however, reserve the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, and for any reason whatsoever, to substitute the Mikei Prize, or part thereof, another prize of equivalent or greater value, including, without limitation, a cash award.
    3. Number of Prizes/Winners: By entering the Contest, each entrant acknowledges that the Sponsor shall not be required under any circumstances to award more prizes than the number of available prizes, as set out in these Rules (i.e. the one (1) Mikei Prize). In the event that, for any reason whatsoever (including, without limitation, as a result of an error, malfunction or defect in the design, advertising, management, implementation or administration of the Contest, whether mechanical, electronic, human or otherwise) the number of declared winners or the number of prizes claimed by entrants is greater than the number of prizes available (i.e. the one (1) Mikei Prize), the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to end the Contest in whole or in part, without notice, and to award the correct number of prizes (i.e. the one (1) Mikei Prize) among the correct number of winners, selected in accordance with these Rules from among those entries validly submitted prior to the termination of the Contest.
    4. Late/Lost Entries: Sponsor is not responsible for, (i) late, lost, delayed, not received, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, stolen or illegible entries; or (ii) failure to receive entries due to transmission failures or technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, servers, access providers, hardware or software, whether originating with sender or recipient.
    5. Other Changes to Contest Rules: The Sponsor may at its sole discretion substitute a prize or a portion thereof with an alternate prize of equal or greater value. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Sponsor shall not be responsible to substitute a prize or portion thereof where such prize can not be redeemed due to factors beyond its reasonable control.
    6. Release and Exclusion of Liability by the Entrants: By entering or attempting to enter the Contest, each entrant and/or purported entrant agrees: (i) to release, discharge, and forever hold harmless the Contest Group and their shareholders from any and all claims, actions, damages, demands, manner of actions, causes of action, suits, debts, duties, accounts, bonds, covenants, warranties, indemnities, claims over, contracts and liabilities of whatever nature or kind arising out of, or in connection with the entrant’s participation or attempted participation in the Contest, compliance or non-compliance with these Rules and acceptance and use of the Prize. Any entrant selected for a prize acknowledges that upon awarding of the Prize, the obligations typically borne by the provider of services or goods become that provider’s responsibility; and (ii) if selected as a potential winner, to sign the Sponsor’s declaration and release documentation in this regard before receiving his/her Prize. The Contest Group and their shareholders will not be responsible for lost, incomplete, late or misdirected entries or for any failure of the Contest website, if applicable, during the Contest Period, or for any technical malfunction or other problems with, any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software or for any technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination of the foregoing, and will not be liable for any resulting death, injury or damage to any person or property arising from, or relating to, that person’s or any other person’s participation or attempted participation in the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
    7. Conduct: The Sponsor reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this contest, in whole or in part, in the case of the occurrence of an event, an error or any human intervention that could corrupt or affect the administration, safety, impartiality or the running of the contest as provided in these contest rules.
    8. Personal Information: Administrator(s) and sponsor(s) reserve the right to publish the winner’s first name, last initial, city, and province of residence and their testimonial (if submitted) without compensation whatsoever and that, without limit as for the period of use, in any media and on a worldwide scale, for publicity purposes or for any purpose that may be considered relevant.
    9. By entering this Contest, each entrant expressly consents to Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted with his/her entry for the purpose of administering the Contest and in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy.
    10. This contest is no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with SkipTheDishes Restaurant Services Inc., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Mailchimp and/or any other company not listed as Sponsor. If applicable, social media posts (such as but not limited to tweets and Instagram posts) must be PUBLIC to be eligible. If you sign up to the newsletter as an entry, you must confirm your subscription for the entry to count. A reply to the winning email is required within 72 hours before a new winner is chosen. The winner’s entries will be verified.
    11. Contact information for Sponsor, if applicable, can be found in the contest text via website links.
    12. Retail value of prizes is listed in the contest text.
    13. Images included in the giveaway post may not depict the exact prize, and are for illustrative purposes only.
    14. All decisions of the Sponsor or those of their representatives regarding this contest are final and binding.
    15. By entering the Contest, all persons are deemed to have read and to have accepted these rules and regulations.
